Today was to be the coldest of our trip...as you can see it was!
About 50 degrees very windy near the lake.
Wait, did you say lake?
Yes, that is not the ocean...but you would not know it.
We decided to make a trip to a light house and other scenic areas about 40 min away.
I have a real real love for roads like this.
Quick stop for a picnic lunch...that's a serious bite there Torrance!
Are you kidding?
First stop after lunch was to the old logging area.
Basically they chopped down trees and then slid them down the dunes to the lake.
There are warnings all over...'it will take you a minute to get down and hours to climb back up,
Rescue personnel are a long ways away.'
This did not stop the kids from wanting to slide down...and we couldnt even really see what was down there. So we said no way!
This was the view...couldnt see the other side.
After we convinced them they could not do the dunes they ran back to the trail...sticks in hand.
Safe.
So then we went to another overlook to see what we couldnt see before.
Hysterical! The kids wanted to slide down this and climb back up?
Nice try. Cassie and I were rolling with laughter.
All the excitement was too much for little bits.
Next stop a 1.5 mile hike to the light house.
With pretty views of the ocean, er, I mean lake.
These two are hitting it off so well.
Lots of hand holding on the walk.
The lighthouse...
too bad it wasn't open for tours.
Still beautiful views around the lake.
