Way back what seems like years ago, but really it was Fall of 2019, Dad started planning for LEAP DAY.
We felt it fitting that for our last year with all five kids at home, we were given an extra 24 hours!
Originally I wanted to surprise everyone with a day in Des Moines. Of course dad goes bigger! He planned a full weekend in Milwaukee WI.
He woke everyone up before dawn in the most annoying way possible. Screaming, 'Its not sleep day its LEAP DAY!!'
Several kids cried.
But once we set off everyone was ready for the adventure.
My contribution was coming up with time capsules for everyone to fill out and making everyone promise to come back for a Leap Day in the future so we can open them together.
We did a lot of fun things...touring downtown Milwaukee.
Eating at fun places!
Getting 2 hotel rooms so Tori and Tess could call each other!
Getting messy with ribs.
Roller skating!!!
More sightseeing
And the grand finale.....the Broadway show, The Lion King!!!
I think we all agree that this was the most fun surprise and it ended up timing out perfectly before the pandemic and lock down that kept us from going anywhere for months!
I hope you 5 always remember how much your dad loved spoiling you, surprising you and investing in you!
And don't forget that you all promised to come back and open the time capsule!
