Rain, Rain

We woke up to a nice spring rain. Complete with thunder.
As we were driving to work I laughed and told Jordan that I knew exactly what my dad would have said this morning.
As soon as he woke up he would have gone to my mom and said, "BA, (her initials and one of his many names for her) Do you think the rain will hurt the rhubarb?"

I don't know why he said it, or when it started, just that any time it rained he said this to my mom.

Just one of his many little sayings that made him who he was and that make him impossible to forget and so easy to miss every single day. He continues to make me smile even though he isn't here. Love you dad.

Spiderman

This morning Sully came running in to get me yelling, "spiderman! spiderman!"
I couldn't imagine what he was going to show me.

We got to the kitchen and he pointed up at the window at a boxelder bug. He looks at me and says, "SPIDERMAN!"

I dont ever want to forget how cute that was!

Poor Barbie

Avery likes to play Barbies a lot. Lauren never really got into them too much. Anyway, lately I've been doing a lot of Barbie playing with Avery. I've discovered something...
We have lots of Barbie brand dolls handed down from my niece and then some other types that my girls have gotten as gifts like Hannah Montanna, High School Musical, and some random and specialty ones I can't explain. Well their clothes do not fit the regular Barbie brand, want to know why?

Are you ready?

BARBIE IS TOO BIG!

Seriously, we needed to make skinnier dolls for them to play with? What is going on?

Easter

These pictures aren't great but they were the best we got from this Easter. Maybe next year will be better?

The only one for Sully in his cute clothes - he calls polos like the one he is wearing - Daddy shirts. So cute.

The girls looked adorable but when we walked outside to go to church in their sandals and bare legs I almost screamed - there was fresh snow on the ground! They were so cold! By the time I got around to trying to take a picture of them, it was about 3 o'clock and they were out of the picture mood. Here they are with their Easter candy from Grandma Cindy.

A picture

All weekend I told the kids I wanted ONE good picture of all three of them together, either at the waterpark or in their Easter clothes. It did not happen. Sully is at the annoying stage where he sees the camera and instantly wants to look at the back to see the pictures. The camera comes out and he starts yelling, "See, See!" Then he gets mad and its all over.
Here is an example of it in our hotel room. Then it turned into wrestling.

The girls

These two would have stayed at the waterpark all night if it had been an option. And I swear, they get cuter by the second!

Water fun for Sully

Here's a couple of Sully on 'his' slide and trying to convince Daddy to take him somewhere.
Sully was quite the gentleman on the slide. If another kid came up he'd scoot over and sit and wait...ok, maybe he was more timid than gentlemanly but I found it cute.

Grand Harbor

We took the kids to the waterpark and hotel this week for a short spring break. We had a blast and not just the kids!
I'm not sure if Sully enjoyed the waterpark or just staying in a hotel more. He thought it was all the best...including the luggage cart, which we had trouble getting him off. He also loved staying up till 11 at night.

Lauren is still not a fan of the waterslides but is content to swim and play on everything else. She said her favorite part was pouring a bucket of water on me from up on the climbing apparatas. It was not my favorite part.
Avery and Sully would have done the slides all night. Sully especially liked the one that he could do all by himself of course.

We hardly took any pictures in the waterpark - it was just too much for 2 adults to keep track of 3 kids in the busy place!

Here's Sully enjoying the silly luggage cart.

My confession

When I sit at the computer and I'm typing really fast I tend to pretend I'm playing the piano and singing beautifully. If I've got Itunes going at the same time - watch out - you'd swear it was really me you were hearing.

I have not been blessed with either of those gifts. However, its ok, because someday I know that I will get to sing with the angels around His throne - forever - and that will be better than I am imagining now.

So, that's a long way to get to the point - This dream isn't going to come true for me on earth, so - if anyone wants an old out of tune piano and you're willing to come get it - its free. We simply don't have room for it. Someday when my kids take lessons they'll have to practice at church.

Let me know if you're interested.

Good Luck Goo Recipe

Several people have asked for the recipe for the goo from the party, so here you go.
Just becareful the kids don't eat the Borax of the glue!

Good Luck Goo

In a container big enough to hold 3 cups or more, mix:
1 1/2 cups warm water
2 cups white glue
food coloring
In another container big enough to hold about 2 cups, mix:
1 1/3 cups warm water
3 teaspoons Borax;
Mix the ingredients in each container carefully. Gently pour the mixture from the smaller container into the larger one. Stir until the mixture combines and thickens into a gooey ball and only a small amount of liquid is left. Let it rest a couple minutes to continue thickening. Drain excess liquid. Your Goo will last 2-3 weeks in an airtight container or a zip-lock bag.

Its work

Seriously, it is work to breathe right now. I am 24 weeks. I shouldn't be this short of breath yet. Plus, I can tell this baby is riding much lower than the other three did so shouldnt that give me more space to use my lungs to their full capacity?

I can't sit in a chair comfortably and breathe normally at the same time. I either have to sit up EXTREMELY straight, or slouch way down with my feet up on another chair or footstool. This is very easy to do at work. ha.

I guess I should feel lucky - that's my only complaint right now. But really, 16 more weeks? 16!

His Book

Sometimes its too easy for me to look for encouragement from the wrong places. From the kind words of a friend or loved one, from a book on the shelf or a random blog or internet site.
Last night I was reading in the right spot where I should always go for encourgament and as always, found just what I was looking for. I was actually reading through some Easter passages to share with the kids when a slip of paper fell out and onto my lap. I had written this verse on it and use it as a bookmark in my bible:

Job 23:10 'But He knoweth the way that I take: when He hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.'

The last week was one where I didn't feel like the greatest mom. While we did lots of fun things with the kids I still felt tired and short with them. I had asked God to please help me be patient and loving towards them at all times. I'm so blessed that He not only hears my prayers but answers them. He's still working to perfect me. He knows when I just need a little boost of encouragement to feel up to the challenge again. I love that His book is so masterfully written that it holds the answers to all my questions and the solutions to all my needs.

My girls

Lest they someday read my Tagged - top 10 and wonder what I meant by it, I need to clarify...I never THOUGHT I'd have girls because I was afraid I wouldnt be very good at it- but the minute I did - I knew I'd always wanted lots of them...

You two are a blast! Being your mom is one of my greatest joys - look at you! I'm so blessed!

An Irish Jig

Cindy brought up some Irish music and taught the kids how to dance a jig - it was adorable!

Watching Grandma find the music on her laptop.

Dancing!

The mess

The juggling soon turned into this which turned into a throwing fight - all brought on by Jordan.

Some Goo

I love these of Avery...

Cupcakes and magic

Watching the magic turn into Good Luck Goo!

The leprechan hunt

Here they are waiting for their treasure from the leprechans...

Green Party

Grandma Cindy went all out for the GREEN Party on Saturday.

We stared out with a green lunch of kiwi, grapes, apples, cucumbers, broccoli, green peppers, olives, green beans, and 2 non green items - hotdogs and chips.
Grandma then read the kids a leprachan story and we had a leprachan hunt. Each child found a leprachan who were then required to give them their treasure.
After that we had green cupcakes and green sherbert.
Then Grandma showed everyone some magic by turning glue and borax into Good Luck Goo! The kids had a great time playing with that until Jordan turned it into a juggling and throwing contest.
After the goo the kids learned how to dance an Irish jig complete with Irish folk music.

Here's the kids and grandma - they wanted to see themselves in their matching shirts. I was being very helpful - standing on the toilet taking pictures.

Everyone had a great time and I know that they will remember this party for a long time. Thanks Cindy!!

Friday

We had a great weekend full of fun for the kids. Friday night we went on a walk and even though it was pretty cold the kids had a wonderful time.

Wait up Dad!

See ya Dad!

Okay, we'll hold hands.

Lauren giving Avery a ride on the trike that Lauren has been too big for since she was about 2.

Then when we got home the girls started our slumber party in the living room. They had a blast and Avery kept saying, "This sure is a special night isnt it?" They used their princess air mattress/sleeping bags and I slept on the couch. It was a lot of fun.
