Day 3 - Driving and 4 corners

On Monday we needed to drive to Flagstaff, AZ.
We knew it would be a long day in the car.
We thought it wise to add time to that by detouring to
Four Corners so that the kids could touch 4 states at once.

After making this decision I think we'd all agree that was not the right move.
Four Corners was less than impressive and it was HOT!
Like cook you in an oven hot.
And Im not sure the younger kids even really understood what we were doing there.

Colorado Springs, Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods

On our first full day we set out for the summit of Pikes Peak first.
Jackets were definitely required.
There was plenty of snow at the top.

Fun old cars even made the trek up.

Snowball fight in June!

Great views!

Love them.

BFF's

We found this so fun.
We really wanted to meet Harry.

Next we headed to the Garden of the Gods.
We did a short hike to the Siamese Twins formation.

Ive said this over and over on this vacation...
God is just so cool and creative!

Bo-bo!

Use your muscles Contessa!

There's our crew.

We got there just in time to keep this rock from tipping!

Trip to Oregon 2016

This is the second year in a row we've been able to road trip to Oregon with the Yoders.
Last year, Mandy and headed out with the kids and the guys met up with us at the end of the trip.
This year the guys are starting the trip with us and Jordan actually gets to stay the entire time.
We are so happy!

Here is one of our planning sessions.
I was very helpful.

So after weeks of planning the trip started Saturday, June 18th.
We drove from Grundy to Colorado Springs the first day.
It. Was. Long.

The kids had great spirits and were just excited to be on the road.

We did a lot of car seat switching.
It helped keep everyone upbeat and happy and UNbored!

More Contessa

I just dont want to forget Tess and her innocent cuteness because she's growing up so very fast right now.

She received a butterfly gift from Grandma recently.
We all had a lot of fun watching them make their chrysalises and hatch!

It was also fun to let them go!

We would totally do this again!

I also dont want to forget that one day she ran some errands with me and had to bring along the Christmas tree from her Barbie house.
I just loved it.
