Who'd have thought I could love another man this much?

Lauren fully agrees with me!

Avery

Will someone please help me explain to Avery that she is not 16 and will never be allowed to become so?

The Light

Jordan and Lauren were talking about things that give us light today. They watched School House Rocks - "Electricity" which got them started on the topic.
They decided to draw pictures of things that give us light. They were drawing fire, light bulbs, flashlights, the sun, stars, all sorts of things. Jordan asked Lauren to tell him about one item on her page. Lauren said, "Well that's Jesus, because the light comes down from Him."

Wow! Sometimes she just amazes me and causes my jaw to drop. I love her so much and I am so happy that she is learning to love Jesus.

Time out?

I think we may be missing the meaning behind time out. I heard Sully cry out from the LVR so I went to investigate and I found Avery in the dining room putting herself into timeout. I said, Avery what are you doing? Time out she said. I said were you naughty? She said, Yep, I hit Sully.

I dont think this form of discipline is working.

(Check out Avery's outfit, this is how she looked when I picked her up from the sitter. She had wet through her clothes during nap time and that was the only alternative. She looks like a miniature gangster!)

Streptococcal

I've got Strep Throat. That's it for now...

Oh, one more thing. Mom's should NOT be allowed to get sick. I think I will take that to court and see if I can get it written into law.

Good night!

Tails

Lauren came into the bathroom this morning as we were getting ready and said,
"Mommy and Daddy, guess what I was thinking about last night in bed? Its the funniest thing..."
"What's that Lauren?" said mommy.
"Tails." Lauren says, laughing....
"Tails???" Daddy asks.
"Yes, on animals, Funny!" Lauren says, still laughing!

And she's right, tails on animals are funny! What purpose do they serve unless you are maybe a horse using it to swat flies? Why havent I ever realized how funny tails are? And how blessed am I that Lauren can bring these things into my life?

Cat Burglar

Beware, there is a cat burglar on the loose. Her name is Lauren.
I got home with the kids tonight discovered that we were completely locked out. So we loaded back up and went to get Jordan. I said ok, what window or door do you want to break? He said none! I said well the kids are all freaking, get us in!
So we pried open a window in the playroom and luckily the storm was unlocked and Jordan lifted Lauren through. I am sure she will never forget it!

September 5, 1977

My dad would have been 29. Yep, that's right, 29. 29 years ago Ron F. and Russ M. cornered my dad and the Holy Spirit took over and my dad got saved. I didn't know until his funeral in June when I talked to Ron and Russ that he used to call them each on that date each year and thank them for sharing the gospel with him.
While my dad's 60th birthday in August was a hard day to deal with, September 5th was a beautiful day. A day for me to remember that my dad is in heaven.
Thank you to Ron and Russ, when I meet my dad again someday in heaven I will no doubt be thinking of you and thanking you again for letting the Holy Spirit use you to get to my dad.

Baby Blues

Aren't they beautiful?

My first blog...

Cassie I know how proud of me you must be right now! I have entered the world of blogging. I kind of felt like it was the only way I could stay in touch with you, you are a poor email partner since discovering blogging! kidding.
