The pool

We are without a pool this summer so tonight we headed over to a nearby town to enjoy their brand new pool. We had a blast - even though it was really too cold to be there! Jordan even talked me into doing 2 of the slides. The kids thought that was pretty funny!

Oh my cuteness!

Sully

Sully had his legs casted today to make molds for his braces. He didnt appreciate the process a whole lot but did pretty good.

This picture was on the way TOO the appointment...

This picture was on the way HOME. They wrote on his legs before doing the casting and Sully knows he isnt supposed to write on himself. He pointed at his legs and said uh-oh just about the whole ride home. Too cute.

My favorite picture

Abrakadabra

Make these leaves float in the air!

Hiking

Ledges has great hiking. The rules are much stricter than they were when I was growing up. Rappeling and rock climbing is no longer allowed...bummer.

We hiked up to Table Rock

Jordan has to do this one on his own. When I was 7 months pregnant with Lauren he made me climb up there though for the perfect picnic spot. I almost didnt make it.

More Ledges

Our time in the water was cut short by this snake and all its babies.

So we played baseball.

And I took pictures.

Reunited

Lauren FINALLY came home on Tuesday night about 10:30. Jordan and I were so anxious we were waiting at the curb for her. I dont think she realized how much she missed us until she saw us. She started crying and just seemed shocked. She slept with us and then when she saw Avery and Sully the next day, she started crying again. Very sweet.

We headed down to Ledges State Park for some family time on Thursday. I spent a lot of time here growing up with my family. I LOVE going there.

Jordan calls Ledges a 'boys paradise'. he's right!

Part of the fun is getting splashed by all the cars.

My heart is light

Probably 2 months ago I told Stacie (our babysitter 2 days per week) that it was my dream that one day this summer I would walk into her house at the end of the day and she would say, "Watch this!" And Sully would walk around the corner.

Well it didnt exactly happen that way, but...

My mom had to pick the kids up for me today and she got to see Sully walk from the couch to Stacie's arms. Stacie had him taking 5 steps at a time all day. At one point she said he took 9-10 steps - all on his own - holding nothing!!!!

We are so very very close!

I dont know which made me happier, the tears in my mom's eyes when she showed me how Sully could walk, the sound of Stacie's voice when I talked to her on the phone to hear her story about it or the look of complete joy and pride on Sully's face when he showed me how he could walk to grandma. Ok, I do know which made me happiest...but my mom's face and Stacie's voice were pretty good too! :)

Jordan has the rest of the week off and we are excited to work with Sully and see what more he can do!!!

Sully and Daddy

Sullivan LOVES to steal Jordan's hat.

Seriously - if it has wheels or a steering wheel this kid is in heaven. If you can bump it into something - even better!

HOT!

Adventureland

Sully was excited to get going!

Does anyone NOT like the Frog Hopper?

Waiting for the bumper cars - both Sully and Avery's favorite ride!

Busy

This past week has been so full! I think everyone is feeling that final count down of summer and we are trying to pack in as muc has we can.
We are in the middle of some landscaping projects at home and are starting to see real improvement. Also trying to get some indoor projects completed.

Sullivan had therapy and chiropractor appointments this past week. Both were very pleased with his progress. We are going to go forward with the braces. His appointment for the fititng is next week and then they take about 1.5 weeks to make. It is my earnest prayer that the day we show up to pick up and purchase the braces - he walks. He is very close. He will walk holding on to one finger of ours. He is wobbly, but getting there. He has been so fun and is real comedian. He has some of his sister Avery's tendancies! I feel as though I am in constant prayer for Sullivan - just wanting to have a clear picture of what God has in store for him. But of course, I must be patient. Not knowing if we are simply dealing with a delay or if there is a serious issue that has yet to be uncovered is almost unbearable for me. Sullivan is teaching me so much - and he is only 18 months old.

Lauren called last night to tell us that she had gone boating - ridden on a tube and fell off and even tried water sking! Jordan and I are so proud of her. I miss her so much it hurts. She gets home on Tuesday.

Jordan got some really cheap tickets to Adventureland so we headed down there today with Avery and Sully. It was very fun to be able to focus on the little too and just do whatever they wanted. Avery loved having her turn as the guide and getting to pick which ride we did next. She loved the day. The really nice thing was that there were no lines for the kiddie rides! That may have had something to do with the INSANE AND SICKENING heat. We were very glad we went though! I'll post pictures tomorrow, way too tired tonight.

Avery talking to Lauren tonight. She was very excited to hear her voice. So sweet.

Avery's bored

Guess what Avery does when Lauren isnt here to entertain her?

She picks on her brother...and makes him scream.

Guess what noise I have to get used to since Lauren is going to school...Sully screaming

Opps, gotta go, Avery is now moving furniture so she can jump off of it and land on the couch!!!

Lauren can start school next year, I need her too much this year.

Lauren the Brave

We just got off the phone with Lauren and she loved it!

Eleven of them went on the raft - including Cindy and her sister, 4 kids 6 and under, Jordan's cousin Corey and his wife and then some miscellaneous relatives.

Cindy said that she was so brave. She rode the bull - which means she rode right up in front of the raft. She jumped into the water and held onto the boat and floated along. She floated down stream with Corey. She loved getting splashed and soaked! Whenever they came to a calm section of water she wanted to know when the fun waves were going to come again!

Parker, who is Lauren's age now calls Lauren, "The bravest person she has ever met!"

So proud of Lauren tonight and feeling like 5 years old is way too early to be missing out on her 'firsts'!

White Water Rafting

Lauren is white water rafting with Jordan's cousins today.

I'm pretending that they are playing Barbie's in the cabin all day.

One long amusement park ride...

We talked to Cindy and Lauren who are patiently waiting in the Las Vegas airport waiting to board their next plane to Boise.
Apparently Lauren thought the plane ride was one long, fun ride. Every time it got a little bumpy or if the plane dipped at all Lauren would put her hands in the air and squeal like she was on a ride at Adventureland!

I am so happy that she is having so much fun. (But a little jealous that I cant be there to see her face during all this!)

Bye-Bye Babies

I just shipped my baby girls off.

Not really, but it feels like it.

Lauren leaves early early tomorrow morning for 8 days in Idaho with Grandma Cindy and her sister, Pam and her granddaughters. They'll be at Pam's cabin having the time of their lives. I'll be sitting home wishing she were here! :) She is getting to fly for the first time and do so many things that I know will be lifelong memories.

Avery was a little jealous so she went to Grandma Barb's for a sleep over.

When did they grow up?

Family Fun Night

We ended the week on Friday night with Family Fun Night. All the parents came and we had a great time.

Lauren and Avery singing in the pew.

Avery shooting daddy with a water gun.

Lauren's turn

Dad's all wet...

Melanie Jammin!

VBS

We had Vacation Bible School every night this past week. Jordan and I team taught the 4s and 5s with the wonderful assistance of Melanie and lots of teens. We had a really fun time. The kids did great. We acted out each lesson with the help of the teens and I think the kids were really able to learn more from each lesson this way.
Lauren was in our class and Avery was in her own class. Very fun, but we are always tired after this long week! It is great to see God working in some of these kids, even though they are so young.

Duck, duck, goose - game time!

Slow

A week or so ago it seemed Sully was really progressing. We were so encouraged and excited for him. A few days ago we were commenting that his progress was again at a stand still. Now the past day or so he's going again...frustrating.

We went back to the chiropractor today. Dr. Paul looked at Sully's knees and said they were pretty off and could be causing his instability and lack of confidence. He assured me that everything we are doing is working towards stability in Sully. And that eventually that will get him walking.

We have therapy next week and Sully's 18 month well child check up in 2 weeks. I am anxious for both.

Sully remains happy and content. He is growing cognitvely every day. Learning words, expressing himself, pretending, joking with us and just being so fun! Everyone we have consultated about this has said that his happy nature could be one of the biggest 'problems' we have. Sully just doenst care if he doesnt walk. He is happy with things the way they are.

We remain anxious for this last piece to fall into place. I really thought he would be walking by now and Im growing tired of waiting, and WORRYING...big suprise coming from me.

Please pray for Sully's strengnth and that someday soon I will turn around and find him standing completely on his own.

Cassie sent me some encouragement this week and I thought I would share...thank you again Cassie!

"Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power forever and ever. Amen" (1 Peter 6-11)

I know that Satan is the cause of my anxiety. He is a strong adversary. But I also know that my Lord is more than able to overcome him and I trust in that.

sad

I just looked over at Lauren and realized in a few short weeks I am not going to have her around me all day. Im not going to have her asking all her questions, saying, Mommy, guess what?, hugging me, asking if she can help cook, picking on Avery and trying to 'help' Sully.

I cant believe that 5 and 1/2 years have passed so quickly. I cannot believe that I have a kindergartner.

I'm sad. I'm going to miss her so very very much.
