It was apparently very warm out today. Jordan took Avery and Sully out at lunch time and when he brought them in they both bawled.
After nap Sully immiedetly went for his snow boots and was begging to go outside. I said ok but as soon as we were out there I knew it was a mistake. The wind had come up and it was much colder and the wimp in me couldn't take it. So we came in after 10 minutes.
Sullivan is still glaring at me. Really, he is. He's sitting on the couch, with his snow boots on, refusing to take them off, and he is glaring at me. Its quite cute really. Again, no mother of the year awards for me this week.

Thank you mom and my great kids...
I'm on the mend. Not great, but at least upright. I really couldn't have gotten through this week without my mom's help with the kids - so thank you!
And seriously, I have good kids. Somehow Avery and Sully knew they needed to be good. Apparently they looked at their mother lying pathetically on the couch and knew not to push it. They have been so good! I owe them.
I am trying very hard to put myself together so we can attend a family supper at Jordan's aunts house tonight. I took a shower and did my hair and that feat alone about did me in. Afterwards I asked Lauren if I looked ok, "Sure" she said. I said, "Well do I look sick?" She studied me for a couple seconds and then said, "Well, just your face." and then walked away.
At least she's honest. I think I've got aways to go.

What's gettin' me through...
Two things I cant live without due to my current sickness...
1. very very cold cups of ice water
2. steaming hot mugs of raspberry tea
Both seem to calm my throat unlike the tylenol which does nothing. Oh how I miss ibuprophen.
Oh, I guess I also cant live without kleenex - there are currently 5, yes 5 empty boxes in our recycling bin. Im on box #6. That is sad.
However, my 2 doctors pow-wowed today and decided that whatever is attacking me is probably worse on the baby than putting me an antibiotic. So as of 5:00 tonight I've got drugs - and they're the good ones this time.
Good night.

I give...
The combination of this winter and pregnancy have taken me over.
I'm on sinus infection and/or ear infection #4 for this pregnancy. I've been on an antibiotic twice since Christmas and three times total since late October, so we are trying to wait this one out and see if I can get by without the drugs. I feel as though a small army has taken up residence somewhere between my left ear and my right ear. I am not having fun.
But, the kids are still cute...
Lauren doing Im not sure what!
Avery being ever so cute after church this week.
Sully studying something
Isabel - look close - she has one foot in one of Jordan's shoes and one in the other. VERY CUTE!

Welcome baby...
We got our first real glimpse at baby #4 yesterday. Jordan and I both agree that we are going to have another Avery/Sully looking baby, not a Lauren. Cindy saw the pictures and she agrees too.
The 3D ultrasound is just remarkable. The baby was curled up pretty tight in a ball but we got a couple of good face pictures. We even have video of the baby waving at us but I cant upload it! :(
After 1.5 hours of it I was ready to get up and go get something to eat...cant wait for July!!!!

Opps
I just broke Avery's heart.
I told her that when Daddy and I get home tonight we'll have pictures of the baby to show her.
Her eyes got HUGE and she said, "The baby's coming out TODAY!!!"
She almost fell out of her chair.
So then trying to explain how the dr. could get pictures of the baby while it is still inside was pretty much impossible.
She's crushed.

Ahhhhhh, relief...
It's OVER! I've been working on the hospital's All That Glitters Gala for about 6 weeks and this past week has been very busy. But, yesterday went great and we got the night completed before any bad weather hit. We had over 130 people and from what I could tell everyone had a good time. I'll figure out tomorrow how much money the event raised. The main sponsor for the evening was a local jeweler who gave a huge diamond and topaz pendant and chain as well as 6 other loose stones averaging 6 carats each! Watching the winners of the stones as their names were announced from the raffle was really fun!
Today I was ALMOST happy about the 56th snow storm of the season, it was great to stay inside, enjoy the kids, take a nap and basically just relax. Looks like school is atleast delayed for tomorrow...will winter ever end!
Here are a couple of pictures of some of those at our table...
Nick and Stacie
me and Nick
Mel and Jason
Jordan and I dancing - the picture of me at the table with Jordan made me appear FAR too pregnant...cant imagine why.
The centerpiece. It was MUCH prettier in real life.

Lots going on...
Its been a crazy week. I helped at Lauren's Valentines Party on Thursday and had a really good time. Avery and Sully got to have a Valentines Party at Stacies as well so they felt like big kids. Avery had a blast.
Saturday night is the hospital's Gala and I feel like I've already put in 60 hours this week and the actual day of the event isn't even here yet! Hopefully tomorrow I wake up with renewed energy. I know it will be worth it and by tomorrow night I'll be basking in the feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment I get after an event like this is successful.
Here are a couple of Valentine's pictures, the girls have on their Valentines necklaces from Grandma Barb and their Valentine shirts from Grandma Cindy. Sully's got his Valentine's cupid bear - he LOVES that thing!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Sullivan Joseph!!
Oh my little Sully, I don't even know where to begin. How could 2 years have passed so quickly? I remember the day you were born like it was yesterday. I will never forget the look on your daddy's face or the tears in his eyes when he whispered to me, "Its my boy!" He was so proud and so excited for the years to come with you. What a gift we were given with our first son.
As I look back over the past 2 years I am reminded of the special things about you that I know God did just for me! Four months after you were born your Papa Richard went to heaven. During that heartbreaking time I had a special friend, a little bundle who loved to be cuddled, who loved to smile and coo and spend hours staring into my face. With your little face so many cares seemed to be lifted from my heart. I will never be able to explain how much you did for me as a 4 month old!
The following spring and summer you decided to fill your mom and dad, and just about everyone else with worry. We spent some long days and nights worrying that your little legs really didn't want to walk or stand. But it turns out that God was using this to teach mommy and daddy something - to trust in Him more. It could be he was also trying to tell mommy that she doesn't have everything figured out when it comes to being a mom as well!
You walked on your own schedule and now when I look at you I am just in awe. I never thought that simply seeing a little boy run into a room at full speed could fill me with such unexplainable joy. Your walking, running and dancing is a constant reminder to me that our God is good. Our God is able to do miracles. I love that reminder and I will never grow tired of it. I hope you wont either. I pray that you will remeber these verses as you grow, they helped me so much as you were learning to walk, Hebrews 12:2 "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." and Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose."
Sully we love having you as our son. We love watching you be a boy. To play with cars, to enjoy football and basketball with dad. Sword fights and wrestling, spitting and yes, even tooting!
You've turned our world upside down in every way imagineable and I wouldn't change it for the world.
After two years all I can really say is, I am so very very blessed that God sent you to live at my house! I love being your mommy.

Sweet Little Baby Assa
Last night some friends of ours were asking Avery what she wanted to name the baby.
Her answer, "Assa."
Hm, we'll have to consider that. Melanie wanted to know what we would call her for short. Avery didn't really have an answer for that, thankfully.
I think its safe to say that the name search continues.

The more the merrier
Well I am FINALLY starting to feel better. I think I have learned from this...go to the dr. BEFORE you've been sick for 3 weeks.
The most annoying thing right now is that I still cannot hear properly.
So Tuesday Avery complained of a sore throat and was very lazy all day but no temp. Tuesday night she was up and threw up a couple of times so I figured she had strep - classic Avery strep. So we went to the dr. here in town yesterday and the test was negative so that's good. Avery thew up all over the dr. during the test. She looks up at us with these sad little watery eyes and says, "I'm sorry, but don't stick that thing down my throat then. It hurts!"
The dr. and I both cracked up.
Avery went to bed last night seeming pretty much better. This morning her spirit seems to be back!
At 5 this morning, Lauren came in and said her throat hurt really bad and she needed to puke. The beauty of a 6 year old throwing up is that they make it to the toilet - oh how I am thankful for that!!! No changing sheets, clothes and giving a bath in the night.
So she is home from school again after the snow day yesterday. Although now she is playing very happily with Avery and I'm wondering if she shouldn't be in school after all...
I'm hoping the birthday boy doesn't catch the bug and we remain free of all kinds of illness for the birthday weekend ahead!!

Is this not amazing?
Im 18 weeks this week, here's what Baby #4 is up to:
Head to bottom, your baby is approximately 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and she weighs almost 7 ounces. She's busy flexing her arms and legs — movements that you'll likely start noticing more and more. Her blood vessels are visible through her thin skin and her ears are now in position and stand out from her head. Myelin (a protective covering) is beginning to form around her nerves, a process that will continue for a year after she's born. If you're having a girl, her uterus and Fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If your baby is a boy, his genitals are noticeable, though he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.
Our ultrasound is in 2 weeks, I cant wait!

It is truly amazing what an afternoon in bed and 3 doses of antibiotic can do for a person. I am migraine free for the first time in so long I truly cant remember. It has become normal for me to have a headache - hopefully not anymore!
I dont have much appetite yet or energy but the scale at the dr.'s office proved that the no appetite thing is not stopping my weight gain!
The house is back in a little order and I am planning to head to bed and wake up a new person!

Happy Birthday!
With the exception of a splitting migraine (cant take my normal cure all because of the baby in my belly) and sinus issues that have plagued me for a couple of weeks now, I had a wonderful birthday weekend.
Many phone calls and cards, a night out with my husband, (who embarrased me by asking the Texas Roadhouse gang to announce my special day to the crowd - and making me sit on a saddle and then receive a not-worth it bowl of ice cream), a superbowl/birthday party at my mom's with Nick, Stacie and Livvie, breakfast in bed with all my kids and some great presents!
I truly love breakfast in bed with my kids. We normally spill, I have to share my eggs, toast and yogurt, and undoubtedly someone starts crying, but I love it. I know that in 10 years I will really really want breakfast in bed with my kids and they will refuse. I LOVE this time and memories we are making.
I also received the game Blokus, a puzzle and a stow and go puzzle mat from Jordan and the kids. I've wanted a stow and go puzzle mat for years, literally.
Today I woke up feeling no better after going to bed at 7:30 last night. So I gave in and went to the dr. Yep, sinus infection and double ear infection! (what am I 3?)
The dr. said the migraines are very likely a direct result of the sinus infection, which I've probably had for weeks. I've got good drugs now and plan to sleep the afternoon away.
